The waterless base is what makes the texture work. Without water, the formula relies on lightweight esters and plant-derived alkanes that spread evenly and dry down cleanly, which is why there's no white cast or residue despite being purely mineral.
Bisabolol calms, squalane replenishes lipids without occluding, and meadowfoam seed oil adds oxidative stability - both to the formula and on the skin. Rutin, a flavonoid antioxidant, works alongside the zinc to address the free radical activity that UV exposure triggers even when SPF is doing its job.
